Senior Spotlight - Saige Moore

Hello! My name is Saige Moore and I have gone to Shattuck Public Schools since Pre-k. I have a sister named Lyla and three dogs. My favorite class is Honors biology. I love to teach gymnastics classes and cheer for the ASCT diamonds.

My plans after high school are to attend cosmetology school and work towards running my own salon and boutique. In my free time I enjoy babysitting, doing hair, sleeping, and spending money

WOCDA Honor Choir

Shattuck choir students have been preparing for honor choir auditions over the last couple of months. Fourteen students went to Woodward on September 23 to individually compete against students from other schools in Western Oklahoma. Out of those that attended, eight students were accepted into the 2026 WOCDA Honor Choirs. Jacob Stuart and Mason Stuart made the Junior High Honor Choir. Jade Bozarth, Amelie Burgtorf, James Landers, Alton Reed, Elise Stuart, and Hailey Tolle made the High School Honor Choir. These students will go to Elk City on October 26 to participate in a day-long practice with other students in the select choirs. They will then perform a concert that evening.

Middle School

Staff Spotlight - Meghan Cox

My husband, AJ, and I have two daughters, Ali, a sophomore, and Amelia, a 6th grader. Our girls keep us busy with softball, which we love supporting. I recently completed my bachelor’s degree and am excited to continue growing in education. I enjoy spending time with my family, and I look forward to getting to know my students and their families.

I wanted to become a teacher because I have always enjoyed working with students and watching them learn and grow. I am currently teaching middle school reading.

Students Celebrate Constitution Week

Woodward DAR Chapter Regent Roberta Chance dressed as Colonial socialite Elizabeth Willing Powell who lived in Philadelphia during the writing of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution visited Shattuck Elementary T1-4th grade. The students learned about the meaning of our Constitution and celebrated Constitution Week.

During colonial days of our country, bells were used to call people together to alert them to some important announcement. The students rang their individual bells and then recited the Preamble to the Constitution. The students also rang their bells for the Declaration of
Independence, the signing of the Constitution, and for America’s 250th Anniversary.

See You at the Pole

See You at the Pole is a global day of student prayer. Students and teachers met before school around the flag pole at both sites.

Support Mrs. Abbey!

Mrs. Abbey & Mr. Kelln joined both of their classes and had a Healthy Lifestyles discussion. The kids did not know what was going to happen. We discussed the importance of knowing your family cancer history and the importance of regular checkups for breast and prostate cancer as they get older.

Mrs. Abbey is currently undergoing chemo as she beats breast cancer. She has proudly owned the fact that she has lost her hair.
Therefore, Mr. Kelln let Mrs. Abbey shave his head in support. The kids loved it! Then they showed their true colors as a bunch of the boys joined in!! Some girls cried. It was a great hour of class.
