Miss Shattuck Competition Thursday!

The Miss Shattuck Pageant will be held on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, in Chaffin Auditorium beginning at 7:00 PM. Four Junior girls will vie for the title of Miss Shattuck and the winner will compete in the Miss Cinderella pageant at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in the fall in Alva.

The pageant is divided into four categories with each category receiving ¼ of the points. The categories are interview, casual wear, evening gown, and talent. The individual interviews will be held earlier in the day with the three judges. The winner of the Miss Shattuck will receive a two-semester tuition scholarship to NWOSU, the Alva campus, to be used during her freshman year. It will be presented to her after she competes in the Miss Cinderella Pageant. The contestants are: Amelie Burgtorf, Siren Henry, Kevlee Kelln, and Saige Moore. Amelie is the daughter of Lowell and Joanna Burgtorf. Siren is the daughter of Jesse and Amber Henry. Kevlee is the daughter of Daniel and Jessica Kelln. Saige is the daughter of DJ and Emily Moore. Our MC for the pageant is the current Miss Shattuck, Leah Taylor, daughter of Kory and Susan Taylor. Leah will be performing and crowning our new Miss Shattuck.

We will also have Miss Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Abbey Elam, as a special guest to entertain us and help with the MC for the evening. Abbey will compete in Miss Oklahoma in June. Abbey was Miss Shattuck 2025 and is the daughter of John and Donna Elam.

DAR Good Citizen Award!

Congratulations to Avery Quisenberry! The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest, created in 1934, is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship.

This award recognizes and rewards high school seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. These students are selected by their teachers and peers because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.

Once a student is chosen as their school's DAR Good Citizen the student is invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program. This consists of a personal statement and an essay. Student participation in the scholarship portion of the program is optional. Scholarships are awarded to essay winners at the chapter, state, division and national levels!
