OKFB HOSTS 2023 FFA COMMUNICATIONS CONFERENCE

EDMOND, OKLAHOMA- On Tuesday July 25th, Shattuck FFA’s Chapter Reporter, Ezabela Herber, along with more than 120 FFA members attended the third- annual FFA Communications Conference in Edmond, Oklahoma. All attending FFA members from across Oklahoma were taught basic communication techniques in which all will be broken down in differing sessions. These sessions, taught by Oklahoma’s leading communication professionals, covered the basic concepts of social media, photo and video, writing, and design. Throughout the day, attendees had the chance to work on either a draft social media post, press release, photo or graphic design sample in which they could submit towards the end of the conference for a chance to win a prize. While outside of the breakout session the members are provided with broad communication concepts presented by special guest speakers, whereas inside the breakout sessions they were presented with ways to expand their communication with specific disciplines that can be used to help with further promoting of FFA in not only their school but in their community. The members also learned to better communicate their chapter’s activities, news, and events during the coming year. 

All of this would not have been possible without the help of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau. The Shattuck FFA would like to extend a thank you to them for providing this influential conference to all Oklahoma FFA members.
