City Renames Indian Field After Coaches

By: Teagan Charmasson

On Thursday August 20th, 2020, Shattuck High School held a socially distanced assembly to recognize two very special coaches by renaming the football field, “Bullard Field,” in their honor.  Thursday morning, Shattuck middle and high school students were called out of class onto Hickory Street for a fire drill, which turned out to be a surprise presentation to the coaches.  Troy and Tyson Bullard, former Shattuck FFA members themselves, have been coaching and teaching at Shattuck High for 20 and 16 years respectively. They have been a part of all 12 football state championships and 4 softball state championships. Several Shattuck FFA members helped in making the new signs, which are displayed at the entrance to the football and softball fields, and one will be added to the scoreboard at the football field.  Andrew Thomazin, Samuel Long, and Jadyn Frazier, all senior football players and FFA members, presented the signs to Coach Tyson and Coach Troy in front of the ag building during the assembly.  Join us on September 18th for our first home football game at the newly named Bullard Field!
