SHATTUCK FFA GOES TO STATE CONVENTION

TULSA, OKLAHOMA - Monday May 2nd, several Shattuck FFA members traveled to Tulsa to the 97th Annual Oklahoma State FFA Convention. Convention kicked off on Tuesday, and consisted of 6 general sessions over the course of two days.  More than 15,000 were in attendance, and included every FFA Chapter in the state.  Several Shattuck FFA members were honored at the convention; Teagan Charmasson for being chosen as a member of the State FFA Officer Nominating Committee, Emmie Swanson was runner up in the Reporter’s Contest, and our four State FFA Degree Recipients were Teagan Charmasson, Emmie Swanson, Clayton Washmon, and Eric Quisenberry.  Quisenberry was also honored for Academic Excellence.  Shattuck FFA Alumni Reece Sconyers was also awarded 3rd Place in the Service Learning Proficiency contest.  The Shattuck Ag Issues team, consisting of Teagan Charmasson, Emmie Swanson, Jena Bay, Reagan Hiner, Leonel Torres, and Olivia Quisenberry, received their 2nd place trophy.  And finally, Erica Cox and Breanna McDaniel were chosen as members of the State FFA Chorus, which performed at each of the general sessions.

This was the first year for the Oklahoma State FFA Convention to be held in Tulsa, and they will continue to host this event for at least the next four years.  Congratulations to all state convention honorees!
