SHATTUCK FFA COMPETE AT FIRST SPEECH CONTEST

WOODWARD, OKLAHOMA - On Wednesday, April 13th, 11 Shattuck FFA members traveled to the High Plains Technology Center in Woodward to compete in the Woodward Region FFA speaking contest. The members have been working very hard to finalize their speeches throughout the past two weeks leading up to this contest. The FFA speakers have prepared speeches covering a variety of agricultural related topics. Jena Bay placed 1st in both the Agriscience and Natural Resources division. Abbey Elam placed 1st in the Agribusiness division, and Sydney Melton placed 1st in Animal Science. Cindy Lara placed 1st in 9th FFA Opportunities, and Sadey Schoenhals placed 2nd in the Natural Resources division. Avery Quisenberry placed 3rd in 8th grade Agriculture Exploration, Tayler Kraft was 4th in the same division.  Allyn Goodson placed 4th in Agribusiness, and Jadyn Washmon, Celeste Jones, and Harley Shoaf all competed in the FFA Creed Division.  The top two speakers in each division will go on to compete in the Northwest Area Contest on Tuesday April 19th in Enid, Oklahoma.  The students that will move on from Shattuck are Jena Bay, Sydney Melton, Sadey Schoenhals, Cindy Lara and Abbey Elam.  Avery Quisenberry will also attend and will compete in a speak-off for an open spot in the contest Tuesday.
