Typical Writing Stages of a Kindergarten Student.....

 

* Stage 1 - Scribble writing

* Stage 2 - Writing Random Letters

* Stage 3 - Copying words

* Stage 4 - Writing the beginning and ending sounds of words

* Stage 5 - Writing the beginning, middle, and ending sounds of words

* Stage 6 - Writing vowels in words

* Stage 7 - Spelling most "sight words" correctly, and phonetically spelling all other words

By the end of Kindergarten year, a student should be writing at stage 7, completing one or two sentences, using proper spacing and punctuation.
